The other day I decided to paint my old brown Chelsea leather boots from Topshop. The inspiration to this little DIY project I found in the utterly cool Hermès boots that Kate has been sporting. Ever since I saw them I’ve been looking for a cheaper rip-off – without luck. So I figured I’d might as well transform my good old boots, that has the model I want but a color I’d grown tired of:)
1. Clean the leather with acetone and fine sandpaper
2. Paint with the leather with white leather paint and a paint brush (not too big)
3. Let it dry for 4 hours and then paint a second layer (or skip it if you want to keep the Margiela feel)
4. Let the boots dry for a couple of days, spray with weather protection and then you’re ready to hit the road!
